Military Science

Description

Students with an interest in military or organizational leadership can now take courses in Military Science. These courses will offer students a solid understanding of the complex interactions between leaders and others in the organization including how to train, motivate, counsel personnel, as well as develop teams and teamwork focused on accomplishing specific goals and tasks. This program also teaches life skills like nutrition, physical health and wellness and land navigation. Train like the military in a controlled setting in both Combat Water Survival and Basic Rifle Marksmanship. These credits, with the associate degree, can also assist transfer students interested in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) at University of North Dakota or North Dakota State University.

Preparation

Students should have an interest in leadership.

You do not need to be in the military or plan to join to take Military Science courses. The following are Enrichment credits:

Requirements

By completing the sequence of five courses in military science coursework, students will be prepared to transfer into the third year of ROTC at an approved baccalaureate degree-granting institution.
