Academic Advising

Academic advising is a collaborative educational process between the student and their advisor designed to support academic success. An academic advisor is assigned to each student enrolled at BSC. Depending upon the student's program of study, the advisor may be a faculty member or professional staff.

Academic Records/Registration

Registration for classes is offered at various times throughout the year. Other services provided by Academic Records Office include transcript requests, program changes, updating student demographics information, withdrawals, dropping, adding classes, information on grades, graduation, and diplomas.

Academic Support/Tutoring

Academic Support Services provides tutoring and assistance with learning and/or implementing effective study skills strategies. These services are free and available on a drop-in basis for all currently enrolled BSC students.

Admissions

Admissions is where students begin the BSC application process. Admission counselors are available to assist throughout the application process.

Aquatic and Wellness Center

Students have access to the BSC Aquatic and Wellness Center including the pools, fitness center, and fitness classes. Lockers are available.

Athletics

BSC offers 12 collegiate athletic programs -- men’s baseball and basketball, women’s basketball and volleyball, wrestling, track, cross country, softball, and clay shooting. Go Mystics!

Bookstore

In addition to selling, renting and buying new and used textbooks, the BSC Bookstore sells apparel, school supplies and giftware. Mystic Java, located next to the Bookstore, sells assorted coffee drinks, cold beverages and convenience items.

Campus Information

The Campus Information office provides various services for students including student IDs, copying, faxing, scanning, lost and found and more. Theatre box office ticket sales also are located at the Information Desk.

Campus Police

BSC Campus Police maintains a safe and secure environment for the college community. The department provides safety prevention and programming, responds to incidents on campus, patrols parking lots, and works closely with the local police department.

The Library offers rich collections and a full range of services, including information sources in a variety of formats; comfortable, light-filled spaces for group or solo study in the Library Commons; study rooms; a quiet reading room; an instructional computer lab; and public computer workstations, printers, and scanners.

Academic, advising, accessibility, personal and career counseling is available at the Mystic Advising and Counseling Center (MACC). Other services offered include employment information, job fairs, multicultural service and transfer information.

The Student Finance office is the place to find answers to questions regarding transactions on your student account resulting in a balance due or refunds. Information relating to payment requirements, waivers, third party information and residency also can be obtained from Student Finance.

Student Life offers opportunities for students to participate in student organizations, Student Government Association, intramural sports and various activities and student events.

Testing Services

Testing Services offers a variety of examinations and services to meet the needs of students and the community. Some exams include: Placement Exams, CLEP and DSST Credit Exams. Services include make-up exams, accommodated testing, and proctoring services.
