College Degree Requirements
In order for a student to be awarded a degree, they must indicate their intent to graduate when registering for their last semester. The Application for Degree is available online. Failure to apply by the last day of the semester of graduation may delay the awarding of the degree until the following semester. Students will have 30 days after the intended graduation term ends to make sure any additional paperwork, transcripts, or final grade changes have been received by the Academic Records office.
Effective degree requirements are as follows:
- Students who are enrolled continuously, except for summer session, can choose the catalog at the time of their initial enrollment up to and including the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they plan to graduate.
- Students who change programs (i.e. Liberal Arts to Human Services) can choose the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they declare a new program up to and including the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they plan to graduate.
- Students who change plans (i.e. Certificate to AAS) but remain in the same program may choose the catalog at the time of their initial enrollment up to and including the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they plan to graduate.
- Students who change pre-plans (i.e. pre-Practical Nursing to Practical Nursing) can choose the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they were accepted into the program up to and including the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they plan to graduate.
- Students who add additional programs can choose the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they declare the additional program(s) up to and including the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they plan to graduate.
- Students who have a break in enrollment can choose the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they reapply up to and including the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they plan to graduate.
- Non-degree seeking students are not eligible to earn a degree. In order to change status to degree seeking, students must reapply, satisfy all admission requirements, and submit an application for degree. Students can choose the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they become degree seeking up to and including the catalog in effect during the academic year in which they plan to graduate.
