Program Certificate Requirements

Programs Containing 45 or more Prescribed Technical Program Requirements:

  1. Satisfy all degree seeking admission requirements.
  2. Complete a prescribed technical program. 1
  3. Complete general education requirements.  See General Education & Diversity Matrix.
    • A minimum of four semester hours of general education credits.
    • Must be from any two areas of study.  For example, an English course and a Computer Science course, but not two English courses or two Computer Science courses.
  4. Academic Skills Courses (ASC) will not fulfill general education requirements, institutional credit requirements and cannot be included in the semester hours required for a Program Certificate.
  5. Earn at least 15 semester hours of institutional credit from BSC.
  6. Meet all of the following:
    • Minimum of 2.00 GPA in a prescribed technical program
    • Minimum of 2.00 institutional GPA (BSC only)
    • Minimum of 2.00 Cumulative GPA (BSC + Transfer)
  7. Clear all college obligations.
  8. File an Application for Degree in the Academic Records office immediately following enrollment in final semester.

Programs Containing less than 45 Prescribed Technical Program Requirements:

  1. Satisfy all degree seeking admission requirements.
  2. Complete a prescribed technical program. 1
  3. Academic Skills Courses (ASC) will not fulfill general education requirements, institutional credit requirements and cannot be included in the semester hours required for a Program Certificate.
  4. Earn at least 15 semester hours of institutional credit from BSC.
  5. Minimum of 2.00 GPA in a prescribed technical program.
  6. Clear all college obligations.
  7. File an Application for Degree in the Academic Records office immediately following enrollment in final semester.
