Accreditations

Bismarck State College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a regional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The college was first accredited in 1966.

Automotive Collision Technology is certified in all five instructional areas by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), a board of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS).

Medical Laboratory Technician Program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences.

Paramedic Technology is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for EMS Professions (CoAEMSP).

Practical Nursing is regulated by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.

Associate Degree Nursing is regulated by the North Dakota Board of Nursing and nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Surgical Technology is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA).

The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security have designated Bismarck State College as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE) through academic year 2024.

BSC is a registered North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Associate Program Exam Provider.  Upon successful completion of the Energy Services & Renewable Technician course - ESRE 218 Solar & Distributed Grid Systems - students are eligible to sit for the NABCEP Photovoltaic Associate Exam.

North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) has recognized Bismarck State College as a continuing education provider that adheres to NERC Continuing Education Program Criteria for the Electrical Transmission Systems Technology program.

Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) has recognized Bismarck State College as an education provider that adheres to NEI’s Nuclear Uniform Curriculum Program (NUCP) criteria for the Nuclear Power Technology program.
