SCNC 100. AIM Scholar Success Course

Restricted enrollment for AIM Scholars only. This course is designed to assist students in creating strategies for success in their academic lives. The course employs dynamic in-class activities, collaborative learning, homework assignments, projects, journal writing, and mentoring. To enable the students and the instructor to have frequent and meaningful interaction, attendance/participation is mandatory.

SCNC 101. Physical Science I

Corequisite: Concurrent registration in, or previous successful completion of, SCNC 101L.
Typically Offered: SPRING
This course will cover topics in basic Biology and Chemistry. Students successfully completing this course will demonstrate an understanding of and proficiency with the following science concepts: (1)basic biology theory, (2)problem solving, (3)basic chemistry theory.

Corequisite: Concurrent registration in, or previous successful completion of, SCNC 101.

This course will cover topics in basic Biology and Chemistry.

SCNC 102. Physical Science II

Credits: 3
Corequisite: Concurrent registration in, or previous successful completion of, SCNC 102L.
Typically Offered: FALL
This course will cover topics in basic physics and physical geology. The physics portion of the class will cover linear motion, force and momentum. We will also cover sound and light waves. Geology will cover minerals, rocks, the rock cycle, plate tectonics, volcanoes, earthquakes and geologic time.
