A minimum 2.0 GPA must be earned in all required program and general education courses and the cumulative 2.0 GPA must be maintained in order to continue in the program. A student handbook will be issued to each student with specific program requirements. Requirements include a criminal background check which will be performed prior to the start of the OR Clinical Internship course (SRGT 280).

Prior to beginning Semester 6, students must have successfully completed all coursework with a "C" or greater or "T" (test credit) or "S" (satisfactory) for the AAS in Surgical Technology. Students will not be allowed to participate in the final course (SRGT 280) until all other coursework has been completed with a 2.0 or above GPA.

Students may choose to attend a summer session to complete some of the general education requirements for this program. Entrance into Anatomy & Physiology I and lab (BIOL 220/BIOL 220L) may require completion of Concepts of Anatomy & Physiology and lab (BIOL 115/BIOL 115L), a passing score on the placement test or successfully meeting requrements set forth by the Biology Department.
