Description
This certificate program is designed for operators seeking to specialize in the petroleum production sector. Building on the foundational knowledge of Operator I, this program provides in-depth training on the critical systems and skills required to succeed in petroleum production operations. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of instrumentation and control systems, the fundamentals of the petroleum industry, and mechanical drive systems. Additionally the program emphasizes essential skills in operations, troubleshooting, and communications, enabling graduates to optimize production processes, respond to operational challenges, and effectively collaborate with colleagues in the field.
Preparation
Students must successfully complete Operator I prior to enrolling in Petroleum Production Operator II.
Students should be prepared for the physical demands of entry-level technician positions after completing the program. Typical industry requirements often include passing a physical exam, the ability to lift over 50 pounds, and the ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces or at heights. Job applicants may also be required to pass a drug screening and an eye exam, including the ability to distinguish between colors accurately, which is a key aspect in some maintenance tasks.

Upon graduation, Petroleum Production Operator II students will be able to:
