Description
This certificate provides a solid foundation in psychology, and students can use this certificate towards an associates in Human Services and Integrated Studies or BAS degree in University Studies. The certificate can also be completed on its own for those students interested in psychology or who are looking to improve their knowledge to help with career advancement. This program can be combined with numerous current offerings such as management, human resources, nursing, physical education, athletic coaching, business, communication, and future degrees such as university studies. This option will offer students an understanding of fundamental and applied psychological principles that will enhance their work with people in their chosen field.
Preparation
Students should have an interest in psychology, human services, nursing, or other health or human service-related areas.
Requirements
Students who complete the requirements will earn a Program Certificate in psychology. This certificate can be stacked towards an associate's or BAS degree.

Market research identifies a growing interest in psychology and behavioral sciences, driven by increased public awareness of mental health issues and the importance of psychological services in various sectors, such as healthcare, education, corporate, and social services. Psychology-related occupations are projected to grow in response to the demand for mental health support, workplace wellness, and educational counseling, with roles for psychologists, counselors, education, human resources, and social workers seeing consistent growth.
