Secure Web Programming

Program Description

The Secure Web Programming certificate is the second certificate in the Web Page Development and Design stackable pathway. This certificate will teach students to write code for modern web applications, emphasizing secure programming techniques and methodologies.

Preparation

Students interested in Secure Web Programming should enjoy problem solving, researching online, be detailed-oriented and able to work independently. High school students should have successfully completed English, math and computer classes. Early entry course options between Bismarck State College and high schools may be available.

Minimum recommended computer skills:

  • Keying accurately at 20-30 wpm
  • File management skills including folder creation, copying and pasting, renaming files and file location

Students must be able to work independently and in teams.

Program Requirements

Students who complete the curriculum will receive a Program Certificate.

Career Opportunities

Employment opportunities are expected to grow, as research shows computer-oriented careers are among the fastest growing in the country. Positions include web designer, web developer, web programmer, and webmaster.
